Nobel Prize: Non-compliance With Published Policies

Seven Years Late

According to the published policy statement of the Nobel Foundation regarding the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, "The names of the nominees and other information about the nominations cannot be revealed until 50 years later".
Is this really true? See the screen shot above.

  1. Nobel Foundation policy regarding nominations for the prize in Physiology and Medicine, that "information will be kept secret for 50 years".
  2. Information about nominations after 1951 still secret in 2008.
  3. Nobel Foundation site queried on December 28, 2008.
The Nobel Prize Committee changes its website periodically, thus the screne shot is no longer found with the same URL. Effectively, the same screne may now be found at a new URL, except that now the correct information is thirteen years late. The old URL was:
http://www.nobelprize.org/nomination/medicine/database.html
The current (March 13, 2011) URL may be used for verification and is:
http://www.nobelprize.org/nobel_prizes/medicine/nomination/database.html
